The Mad Max world feels distant to Singapore.

For new audiences unfamiliar with the franchise, its post-apocalyptic vehicles and desert punk chaos offer little point of entry into everyday life here.

The fastest way into the Mad Max world is through its machines.

Scrapped together and modified over time, each machine reflects its owner’s past, personality, and place in the world. The story is written into the vehicle.

In Singapore, ice-cream vendors ride motorcycles that are gradually transformed.

A standard bike becomes something else, with freezer boxes and structures welded on, shaped by years of daily use.

So we turned this Singapore icon into a Mad Max machine.
